Everything you need to get unstuck, and how to reach a human when a page does not answer it.
Getting started
- Clients post a project with a title, a description, a category and 1 to 3 tags. Tags are how freelancers filter the board, so pick the ones that really describe the work. Drafts stay private on your dashboard until you publish them.
- Freelancers fill in a profile, add skills, pick a category with up to 3 tags, and upload a few portfolio pieces. Profiles with real work attached get far more replies.
- One account does both. You can post a project and send proposals from the same login.
Proposals and contracts
A proposal carries your bid, an expected duration and a cover letter. Clients can shortlist, decline, or accept. Accepting a proposal opens a contract, and from there the work is split into milestones that the client funds one at a time.
Payments, fees and payouts
- The platform fee is 20% of each released milestone by default and is taken from the freelancer's side at release. The exact rate for a contract is shown on the contract page.
- Funds are held by a licensed payment provider, not by Freelanix. We instruct the release, we never hold the money ourselves.
- A submitted milestone releases automatically 14 days after submission if the client does not approve it and does not open a dispute.
- Payment basis documents, payout requests and acceptance acts can be downloaded from the contract page once a milestone is settled.
Disputes
If a delivery is not what was agreed, open a dispute on the milestone before it is released. That pauses the 14-day clock. Describe the problem, attach evidence, and let the other side reply. A moderator reviews the contract, the files and the message history, then releases, returns or splits the held amount. Try to resolve it in the message thread first, because most disagreements are a misunderstanding about scope.
Trust and safety
- Keep the conversation and the payment on Freelanix. Off-platform deals lose funded milestones, dispute review and your payout protection, and they can get an account suspended.
- Do not share contact details before a contract is funded. Our messaging flags them automatically.
- Never send money to another user outside the milestone flow. Nobody from Freelanix will ever ask you for a password or a card number.
- Report a suspicious project, profile or message with the report control on the page. Reports are reviewed by a moderator and the reporter is not revealed.
Account and privacy
You can change your name, country, avatar, profile and notification settings under settings. If you want to leave, ask us to anonymize your account: your personal data is cleared while the financial records that we are legally required to keep stay behind without your identity attached. This cannot be reversed, so be certain before you ask.
Contact us
If none of the above solves it, write to the support address shown in your account settings, or reply to any notification email you have received from us. Tell us your account email, the project or contract number, and what you expected to happen. Include a screenshot if a page misbehaved. We answer within one business day, and disputes are picked up in the order they are opened.
